Our visitor centre team at Lackford Lakes is looking for a volunteer to carry out a variety of maintenance jobs in the centre which help to maintain a fantastic visitor experience.

Handyperson Opportunity

 

We are looking for a Volunteer Handyperson to help make the visitor experience at Lackford Lakes a truly fantastic one by carrying a variety of maintenance jobs in the visitor centre. You will spend time on a beautiful nature reserve, knowing you are improving the visitor experience for all. 

What You Will Be Doing
The role will be pottering around the Visitor Centre doing Health and safety checks, minor repairs, Carpentry, installing shelves and display units, fixing doors and locks, preparing for, can carrying out, painting and varnishing.

The Skills You Need
No specific skills are required other than general maintenance skills. You will need to have a proactive attitude and the ability to carry out a range of handyperson tasks. You will also need the knowledge and ability to use a variety of power and non-power tools with safety in mind for yourself and others.

As a Suffolk Wildlife Trust volunteer, you will be joining a network of amazing volunteers that are passionaite about nature and are helping us to achieve our strategic goals for wildlife and climate.

What You’ll Get Out of It
This is a great way to support a local wildlife charity that’s making a real difference for nature in Suffolk. You’ll have the chance to meet new people. We’ll provide training and ongoing support.

The Time You Need to Give
As little or as much as you wish during the visitor centre opening hours (Monday to Sunday 10am to 4pm).
