Suffolk Wildlife Trust is Suffolk's leading Forest School provider with 10 forest school Level 3 Leaders covering the whole of the county, hosting courses and sessions in local woodlands, school grounds, and on our nature reserves.
Forest School is outdoor education model in which students visit woodlands and use natural resources to stimulate imaginative, creative, and investigative activities. Children can saw wood, whittle sticks, climb trees, build shelters, and help to light fires - all whilst learning about nature, wildlife, and the environment.
These child-led and child-centred activities help young people to take risks safely, to take responsiblity for their actions, and to take care of themselves and others. Our Forest School sessions have a structure that includes plenty of time for self-led adventure and personalised learning – allowing children the time and space to explore their own outdoor interests.
