Spreading the word about Martlesham Wilds

Charlie Zakss, our Engagement Officer, has been leading some fantastic walks and community events for Martlesham Wilds, thanks to generous funding from the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Over the last four months we have visited almost 1000 Primary School pupils, over 100 high school students and over 600 adults including 18 community groups to spread the news about our wonderful new nature reserve, Martlesham Wilds.

This included ecology students from the University of Suffolk, who despite the wind and snow last week, braved the elements and joined Charlie for a walk around the reserve.

Despite the cold conditions, the students were excited about the reserve and opportunities for nature to thrive here.

We are extremely grateful to Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for helping to fund these projects.

Over the past few months, we have loved hearing the ideas, wild aspirations and questions from everyone who’s visited this special site or has supported our campaign. If you would like to find out more, head to our Martlesham Wilds page.

You can also sign up for our Martlesham Wilds Webinar on 5th April, or join us on a bookable guided walk! We are sure you’ll find this place as special as we do!
