The MBE is in recognition of James’s outstanding volunteer services to the natural environment.
James has volunteered for Suffolk Wildlife Trust as a Trustee for seven years and has Chaired our Board of Trustees for the past two. James brings his immense energy, dynamism and intelligence to Suffolk Wildlife Trust, all underpinned by his love and respect for the natural world and his personal mission to make a positive difference to people and the planet. Here at Suffolk Wildlife Trust we are proud and thankful for James’s outstanding contribution in support of our county’s wildlife.
Christine Luxton, Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s CEO, said “The Trust has over 1,400 volunteers, all of whom play a vital role in protecting our county’s precious wildlife. From welcoming visitors in our centres to fixing fences, checking wildlife populations and becoming a Trustee, everyone can play their part in creating a healthier, wilder Suffolk. James is a shining example of the power of individual action. This Honour recognises James’s dedication and determination to make the world a better place.”
James Alexander comments, “This is a lovely honour, but I really think it reflects the amazing work of everyone at Suffolk Wildlife Trust, its supporters and volunteers who give up so much of their time, energy and talent to create a wilder Suffolk.”
James' work outside of Suffolk Wildlife Trust includes as Chair at Finance Earth and Chair at Agricarbon. James was previously a Trustee for RSPB and was co-founder of Zopa and #VoiceForThePlanet.
