As a Reserve Volunteer, you'll join our Knettishall Heath reserve team and work with them on a range of habitat managment tasks across this spectacular, ancient landscape.

Thursday, Saturday

The Wardens at Knettishal Heath are looking for 4 new volunteers to join their Thursday work parties and 7 new volunteers for their Saturday work parties. Work parties typically begin at 9:30am; Thursdays are full-day finishing at 2:30pm (with a break at 11am and lunch at 1pm) whilst Saturdays are a half-day finishing at 12:30pm (with a break at 11am).

Thursday work parties run all year round wereas Saturday work parties only run from October to February.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working outdoors in one of Suffolk's most beautiful and ancient landscapes.
  • Supporting the Warden and Assistant Warden with general habitat management tasks to help maintain a biodiverse landscape.
  • Engaging with members of the public to help them enjoy their visit to the reserve by providing information about the reserve, trails, and wildlife sightings.

The skills you'll need:

  • No specific experience necessary, however an interest in ecology and the Trust's work would be useful.

The time you'll need to give:

  • A minimum of two days per month.
