The races follow an undulating course through Woodbridge that brings the whole town out onto the streets and support the runners. On the day there are two races: a 10km race for runners aged 15 and over, and a junior 1.5km race for runners aged between 7 and 15 inclusive.
Paul Wigens, the ‘Shuffler’ spokesperson said ‘Proceeds from race sponsorship and any surplus from the event is distributed amongst charities that are proposed by our members. I proposed Suffolk Wildlife Trust’s Martlesham Wilds campaign as it is in an area we know well and use regularly. We are also aiming to reduce the club’s carbon footprint and improve our green credentials, so it fits well with that initiative too.’
We’re encouraging you to sign up and fundraise to help us create Martlesham Wilds. Contact our Community Fundraising Manager, Michael Strand, at teamwilder@suffolkwildlifetrust.org when you have confirmed your place and we’ll help to promote your individual efforts.
To run or shuffle for Martlesham Wilds, book your place at noon on the dot on Saturday 18th March, as it normally sells out quickly. The link to enter will be posted on the Shufflers Facebook 10K page prior to this date.
