There are so many ways you can help hedgehogs and I hope this has been demonstrated by our series of #hedgehogweek blogs. The collective action of many individuals is critical to creating the mosaic of habitat that hedgehogs rely upon, we can't help hedgehogs without you! With whole streets of neighbours coming together to create hedgehog habitat and hedgehog Highways, we can build a network of hedgehog-friendly streets, parks and allotments. This is exactly what we are doing in Ipswich, but it wouldn't be possible without our amazing hedgehog champions.
Hedgehog Champions are volunteers that are enthusing their own social networks to take action for hedgehogs, with each doing this in their own way. From visiting neighbours to give advice and drill holes, to giving talks, creating stalls for events, delivering leaflets or designing posters, there are so many ways champions are helping spread the message.
You can get involved and help hedgehogs in your local patch too. Become a Suffolk Wildlife Trust hedgehog champion by completing the form here and you will receive a champion pack full of ideas and resources that you can use to encourage your neighbours, colleagues and friends to be more hedgehog friendly. If you are based further afield, then sign up to the national project Hedgehog Street. Their website is full of brilliant resources to help you on your way!
