About the event

Join Rachel, a mixed media artist and Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, for a relaxing day of mindful creativity, in a small friendly group of like-minded people at Carlton Marshes.

Rachel, a mixed media artist and Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, invites you to explore the stunning marshes through art, using recycled fabrics, papers, yarns, threads, ribbons, and incorporating wires to create a more 3-dimensional landscape. You’ll also be taken on a short guided walk around the site to gather foraged finds, which you’ll incorporate into your textile pieces, connecting even more deeply with the natural environment.

What to Expect:

  • Guided techniques to help you express your connection to the marshes.
  • A short guided walk to collect natural treasures to include in your artwork with a short pause to engage the senses.
  • Learn to use wires to bring depth and dimension to your pieces.
  • A small, friendly group of like-minded individuals.
  • A chance to relax, create, and have fun in a peaceful setting.

What to Bring:

  • A pair of fabric scissors.
  • Any small beach finds to add into your artwork (This is not essential)
  • Your creativity and willingness to let go!

Whether you're new to art or a seasoned creator, this day is all about enjoying the creative process and embracing your inner artist. Come create, connect, and let your creativity flow at Carlton Marshes!

This is a full day workshop, 10:00am-3:30pm. Teas and coffees will be available throughout the course. Lunch is available to purchase from the cafe or you can bring a packed lunch.
