The award ceremony of the Suffolk Wildlife Trust Photo Competition 2022 took place at Lackford Lakes early in March with the overall winners and runners up announced to much anticipation.
With a record 1300+ photos entered this year, the shortlisting and judging was a challenge due to the amazing quality and array of photos that caught an outstanding amount of wildlife moments in time, be they big, small, fast, slow, bright, subtle, ethereal, comical, menacing and, of course, cute!
The competition’s overall winning image ‘Dinner Time’ was taken by Tim Cooper who collected the £200 winning prize. Tim quotes ‘I managed to capture this male sparrowhawk in my front garden capturing this starling that didn't have much chance!’
Our Overall Young Photographer’s winning image ‘Reed Warbler at Carlton Marshes’ was taken by Daniel Hale, aged 10, whose patience on a rainy day at Carlton Marshes was rewarded with an iconic reed warbler pose.
Many congratulations to everyone, and a big thank you to all entrants.
