On 8th – 12th August, Common Ground is teaming up with theatre-makers Coney at Carlton Marshes, hosting a creative, playful workshop for 13–18-year-olds exploring arts, heritage and games. It is FREE to attend with food & transport provided by Common Ground.
Common Ground is a Norfolk and Norwich Festival 250 project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. This project will be delivered in partnership with Suffolk Wildlife Trust, Norfolk Wildlife Trust, National Trust, Prince’s Trust, SHARE Museums East, and Ipswich + Colchester Museum.
During the 5-day project, you'll create new ways for people to experience the beautiful landscape of Carlton Marshes and connect to the heritage of Lowestoft, led by your interests. What if a visit could be a giant scavenger hunt? Or a phone game that interacts with nature? How would you like to explore the marshes? Let your imagination run wild!
The BAFTA award winning team from Coney will share their methods of creating interactive theatre, games and adventures that can take place anywhere. Learn how to design and use physical games, digital platforms, storytelling techniques and the heritage around you to create new, exciting experiences that connect people to places.
Discover and share what matters to you and what you’re passionate about. The environment, human rights or even your favourite food! You’ll learn how to make a change through your games and Coney’s methods of encouraging playful activism.
No experience of making art, games or knowledge of heritage needed - just be interested and open to having fun!
