About the event

The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 21st September 2025. This is one of the most sought-after running events in the county.

This year we hope you will choose to use this event to put your best foot forward and take action for Suffolk Wildlife Trust, and for nature and climate, by fundraising on behalf of our local charity.

(This event is open to people age 17+ on the day of the race).

About the Event

In 2025, the race will start and finish at Portman Road Stadium (home to Ipswich Town FC), and see runners heading down Duke Street, through our stunning Ipswich Waterfront and then along Cliff Lane. Runners will continue around the picturesque River Orwell, around the outskirts to Freston running along the estuary. Maybe you will spot wading birds as you run past.

You will continue to Wherstead Road, back along Grafton Way before reaching the big finish at the stadium, and our team waiting to congratulate you and celebrate your amazing achievement.

Whatever your running experience, if you are passionate about biodiversity, nature’s recovery and looking after our climate, and are keen to focus your fundraising efforts to support the work of Suffolk Wildlife Trust, right here in your county, we would love to have you on our team!

Please remember, the global clock is ticking as we rapidly approach 2025.  We must secure 30% of land and sea for nature’s recovery, and here in Suffolk, the work of Suffolk Wildlife Trust is critical to our local success. It is only through donations and fundraising from supporters like you, that we can achieve our mission.

How to register and fundraise

We are able to access a limited number of spaces for this event and are offering competitive packages to runners choosing to fundraise for Suffolk Wildlife Trust.

Register to run on behalf of Suffolk Wildlife Trust for just £15 (reduced from the open entry price of £37).  Suffolk Wildlife Trust will pay the balance of your registration fee, provided you commit to raising £130 for our vital work.

The Impact of Your Support

It costs an average of £250 a year to look after just one acre of our precious nature reserves, so every penny raised at this event is vital for taking care of the 7,200 acres we currently protect and for helping us reclaim more connected spaces to bring back nature in abundance.

Terms and Conditions

This event is organised by external provider Run 4 All and we recommend all runners review their website for event details and FAQ’s before requesting a space Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon - 21st Sep 2025 | Run For All | Run For All.  Please note, as this is an external event, Suffolk Wildlife Trust are not responsible for delivery of the event on the day but will be present to cheer our runners on.

Suffolk Wildlife Trust are purchasing registration slots for this event. To benefit from a charity funded space from us, you must commit to raising £130 in sponsorship.  If you fail to raise the minimum amount required to cover the cost of your event space (£37) our team may ask you to self-fund any deficit.
