About the event
Join Rachel, a mixed media artist and Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, for a relaxing day of mindful creativity, in a small friendly group of like-minded people at Carlton Marshes.
Rachel, a mixed media artist and Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, invites you to explore the stunning marshes through art, using recycled fabrics, papers, yarns, threads, ribbons, and incorporating wires to create a more 3-dimensional landscape. You’ll also be taken on a short guided walk around the site to gather foraged finds, which you’ll incorporate into your textile pieces, connecting even more deeply with the natural environment.
What to Expect:
- Guided techniques to help you express your connection to the marshes.
- A short guided walk to collect natural treasures to include in your artwork with a short pause to engage the senses.
- Learn to use wires to bring depth and dimension to your pieces.
- A small, friendly group of like-minded individuals.
- A chance to relax, create, and have fun in a peaceful setting.
What to Bring:
- A pair of fabric scissors.
- Any small beach finds to add into your artwork (This is not essential)
- Your creativity and willingness to let go!
Whether you're new to art or a seasoned creator, this day is all about enjoying the creative process and embracing your inner artist. Come create, connect, and let your creativity flow at Carlton Marshes!
This is a full day workshop, 10:00am-3:30pm. Teas and coffees will be available throughout the course. Lunch is available to purchase from the cafe or you can bring a packed lunch.
