Wild learning Host
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting Adult Wildlearning courses and ensuring they run smoothly by, for example, helping the tutor to set up the room and equipment, welcoming participants, explaining the Covid-19 measures in place, pointing out where the toilets, fire exits and fire assembly points are at the Centre, introducing/thanking the tutor, making teas/coffees, handing out evaluation forms and clearing/locking up the Centre at the end of the day.
The skills you need:
You will need to have a positive approach to working with people and a helpful nature plus enthusiasm for the courses and the work of Suffolk Wildlife Trust. You will need to have the confidence to introduce the session and thank the tutor at the end.
What you’ll get out of it:
You will meet like-minded people, other volunteers and Wildlife Trust staff. You will learn more about the Trust and the work we do and increase your knowledge of the various subjects covered by the Adult Wildlearning programme. Training will be given with a host on one or two courses until you feel confident.
The time you need to give:
Courses are held mainly at weekends. Times vary from a half day from 9am-2pm to a full day from 9am-4pm or 5pm.
Other information:
Adult Wildlearning courses are for over 18s only.
