Thanks to you, we've raised an amazing £322,926, exceeding our target. These extra funds mean we can set aside some of the legacy funds we had allocated to the purchase, so we can do even more to help wildlife in our county.
We are very close to completing the purchase and hope to have everything in place to take ownership in the next few weeks.
The additional 78 acres situated next to the fen will allow more space for nature to thrive and help make this precious valley fen more resilient to climate change. The former arable fields are drier than the wet fen below, and it will be fascinating to watch wildlife move in over the time, as the fields transition naturally to become part of our nature reserve.
